Fees & Insurance
Session Fees
Individual therapy: $225-$250 per session
Couples therapy: $260 per session
Clients who have out-of-network benefits typically pay between $40-100 per session after insurance reimbursement.
I keep a limited number of sliding scale spots available. If the full fee isn't feasible right now, please reach out.
How Insurance Works
I'm out-of-network with all insurance providers, but I work with clients to help maximize their benefits. Here's what that means:
Out-of-network doesn't mean your insurance won't cover therapyβit often just means there's an extra step to get reimbursed. Many insurance plans actually have excellent out-of-network mental health coverage.
I'll help you navigate the process so you can use your benefits without the confusion.
Two Ways to Get Reimbursed:
Option 1: I submit claims for you
I use a service called Thrizer that handles everything:
I submit claims directly to your insurance after each session
Your reimbursement arrives in your bank account 2-4 weeks later (minus a $2-2.50 Thrizer fee)
No paperwork on your end
Want to skip the wait? Thrizer also offers a "copay-only" option where you pay just your copay amount at each session (plus a $10-12 Thrizer fee), and they handle the reimbursement behind the scenes. You never have to wait or deal with claims.
Option 2: You submit claims yourself
Prefer to handle it directly? I'll provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt) weekly or monthly, and you can submit it to your insurance yourself.
Not Sure What Your Insurance Covers?
I can help. I'm happy to check your out-of-network benefits for you. We can go over your insurance information during our free consultation call.
Not sure what out-of-network means? Here's a helpful guide.
Want to check yourself? Call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask these questions:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my deductible for outpatient mental health, and has it been met?
What is the maximum coverage amount per session for CPT code 90837?
What is my co-insurance or copay?
Once you have this information, I can help you estimate what you'll actually pay per session.
Questions About Fees?
Money conversations can feel awkward, but they shouldn't be. If you have questions about costs, insurance, or whether therapy fits your budget, let's talk about it during your free consultation. I want you to feel clear and comfortable before we start working together.
